Monty Bynum served in investigative law enforcement and military intelligence for over 32 years, leading over 200 Marines in operations across 12 countries throughout Eastern and Central Europe and the Middle East. His career includes two decades deep undercover as a narcotics officer, USMC Commanding Officer, DEA Agent, and GBI Special Agent, where he became an international expert in counterterrorism, counterintelligence, money laundering, and complex wiretap investigations. His leadership dismantled multi-country narco-terrorist networks, seized millions in illicit assets, and reshaped state and federal approaches to organized crime.
At just 20 years old, Monty entered the police academy while playing college football, later answering the call to become a U.S. Marine Corps officer. Days after earning his commission, the 9/11 attacks thrust him into immediate command during USCENTCOM’s transition from peace to war, where he led intelligence and logistics strategies to eliminate terrorist threats.
Parallel to his service, Monty built businesses and invested in real estate, launching his first company at 21 before going on to found multiple ventures, contribute to VC investments, launch foundations, and advise executives and agencies. With over three decades of combined tactical leadership and entrepreneurial expertise, he has guided teams, trained thousands, and pioneered financial and operational strategies now taught nationally and internationally.
Today, Monty is a sought-after speaker, author, trainer, and the founder of the ADB family of brands—built on one unshakable belief: that those who wear the badge and all those who lead with a servant’s heart are A Different Breed. His mission is to forge a new standard of leadership and amplify the celebration of extraordinary people. For policing, he refused to settle until policing is restored to the honor, strength, and excellence it was called to be.
Through world-class training, a nationwide community, and his Mission-Focused Leadership program, Monty and the ADB movement are driving change—and they will not rest until it is accomplished. From the halls of Congress to the dreams in every child’s heart of becoming a police officer again, the goal is clear: empower our officers, raise the bar for leadership, strengthen our communities, inspire a new generation of guardians, and make policing great again.
